Tra Vinh University expands international cooperation

Tra Vinh University signed a cooperation agreement on an online master’s program in English language teaching with Samar State University of the Philippines. In addition, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the exchange of lecturers, researching, teaching, and learning, conducting research projects, joint initiatives, and career development programs, was also signed between the university and the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTMSpace).

TVU – Last week, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Rector of Tra Vinh University and Dr. Marilyn Cardoso, Rector of Samar State University – the Philippines, attended an online meeting and signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the online master’s training program majoring in English language teaching, which is considered the first transnational online training program for a master’s degree expected to open and enroll in early 2022.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh highly appreciated the cooperation’s spirit and the implementation’s result of the contents signed in 2019 between the two sides. He hoped that the signed contents would be implemented on schedule and be ready for the first course of the transnational online training program at the master’s degree majoring in English language teaching.

At the same time, Tra Vinh University and the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTMSpace) conducted an online meeting and signed a memorandum of bilateral cooperation.

Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University and Prof.Dr. Azlan Abd Rahman, director of the UTMSpace, signed a memorandum of understanding in the witnesses of the two sides’ leaders and representatives of the Vietnam Association of Community Colleges.

The contents of the memorandum include providing UTMSpace’s academic programs in Vietnam; exchanging lecturers, researching, teaching and learning; coordinately implementing research projects, joint initiatives, and career development programs such as training, organizing seminars, student exchange and credit transfer between training programs of the two sides.

On this occasion, Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa also suggested several feasible activities, including organizing international seminars of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, regularly organizing experience-sharing seminars, cooperating in the dual degree training programs of 3-plus-1 and 2-plus-2, internship, lecturer and student exchanges.
